What is cetirizine in Zetzen used to treat?
Cetirizine is an antihistamine used to relieve allergic symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction.
When should you take cetirizine?
The usual dose for adults younger than 65 and children who are 6 years and older are one 10-milligram (mg) dose per day. You shouldn’t take more than 10mg in 24 hours. Your doctor may recommend a 5-mg dose once or twice per day if your allergies are mild.
