Isoxsuprine hydrochloride in Suprin-10 is a beta-adrenergic agonist that causes direct relaxation of uterine and vascular smooth muscle. Its vasodilating actions are greater on the arteries supplying skeletal muscle than on those supplying skin. It is used in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease and in premature labor.

What are the uses of Isoxsuprine Hydrochloride in Suprin-10?

  • Suprin-10 is used in humans for treatment of premature labor, i.e. a tocolytic, and as a vasodilator for the treatment of cerebral vascular insufficiency, Raynaud’s phenomenon, and other conditions. Isoxsuprine may increase the heart rate, cause changes in blood pressure.
  • Isoxsuprine Hydrochloride is used along with other treatment for certain blood vessel diseases (e.g., arteriosclerosis obliterans, Raynaud’s disease, Buerger’s disease, cerebrovascular insufficiency).
  • It works by widening blood vessels to help increase blood flow (improve circulation) to certain parts of the body (e.g., hands/feet, brain). This effect may help to decrease symptoms such as cold hands and feet, numbness, tingling, and decreased memory or judgment.

What are the Side Effects of Suprin-10?

Dizziness, flushing, stomach upset, nausea, shaking, or nervousness may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

What precautions should I take when taking Suprin-10?

Before taking isoxsuprine, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
